President Obama visited 1776, a tech start-up hub in Washington, D.C., to talk about his “Starting America” initiative and the June jobs report released that day. Unemployment fell to 6.1 percent as 288,000 jobs were created. He also urged Congress to work with him to help pass legislation dealing with immigration, increasing the minimum wage, and rebuilding infrastructure which he said would help grow jobs and expand the economy. close
