North Carolina Speaker of the House of Representatives Thom Tillis delivered the weekly Republican address. He was running against Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) for her seat in the November 2014 election. Speaker Tillis talked about his working-class upbringing and work career that led him to a mid-life college degree and job as an IBM executive. He said electing a Republican Senate majority would give lawmakers the opportunity to revive the country’s economy, rein in the nation’s debt, and improve its standing abroad. close
