The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the proposed Comcast-Time Warner Cable merger and its impact on consumers. David Cohen of Comcast and Arthur Vinson of Time-Warner told committee members that the merger would only benefit the public via more products and faster speed, and would not increase customers' bills. Consumer advocate and media-industry professionals worried about the effects of the merger on competition and innovation. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) expressed concern that the deal could limit networks that carry political content. close
