State Department Spokesman Victoria Nuland announced that Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns and Special Envoy for Middle East Peace David Hale met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in New York City to discuss a vote in the United Nations on Palestinian statehood.
