Patrick Quinn, David Maraniss, and Mayor Paul Soglin talked about the Vietnam War Protests in Madison, Wisconsin, during the 1960s. Patrick Quinn was part of a group who organized the protests, and said that the University of Wisconsin-Madison was one of the most radical college campuses in the country at the time. David Maraniss, author of, They Marched Into Sunlight, talked about what was happening in Madison during the 1960s that led to the anger and anxiety of antiwar students in that city. Madison Mayor Paul Soglin also shared his experiences as a protester at that time.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Madison, Wisconsin, from September 19-23 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
