Witnesses testified on the backlog of military disability claims. They focused on the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) and the length of time veterans had to wait to receive decisions and benefits. Daniel Bertoni noted that the average number of days for service members cases to be processed and to receive benefits increased from 283 to 394 for active duty claims, and from 297 to 420 for reserve claims. close
