President Obama and other dignitaries gathered at Arlington National Cemetery for the annual ceremony honoring the nation’s veterans. The president laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier before proceeding to the nearby amphitheater where he, Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki, and others addressed military personnel, dignitaries, and veterans at a ceremony which included music and the parade of colors. President Obama in his speech talked about his commitment to veterans programs and the end of the Afghanistan war. He also noted the oldest veteran still living, 107-year old Richard Overton, was in attendance. close
