House Appropriations Subcommittee members heard testimony from Housing and Urban Development Secretary Andrew Cuomo and other officials concerning the president’s budget request for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The request totaled $25 billion. Cuomo testified about administrative reforms in the department and the two main goals of the 1999 budget request, to increase U.S. home ownership and urban redevelopment. close
