Stephen Pyne talked about his book, Between Two Fires: A Fire History of Contemporary America, about man’s relationship with wildfires and how views on and policies for managing them have changed over time. Mr. Pyne spoke about how America’s views on controlling wildfires changed from one of complete eradication in the early 20th century to one of controlled burns that are used today.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2016 LCV Cities Tour” in Tempe, Arizona, from October 1-6 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Cox Communications cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
