Tim Pawlenty talked about the financial sector/business community response to the “fiscal cliff” and the U.S. economy. Former Minnesota Governor Pawlenty ran for president early in 2012, and after he left the race, he became co-chair of Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign for president. In September 2012 he left that position. The Financial Services Roundtable announced on Sept. 20 that Mr. Pawlenty would be its President/CEO. The Financial Services Roundtable is made up largely of banks and credit card companies.

“Fiscal Cliff” refers to the impending tax increases and budget cuts at the end of 2012 if Congress could not reach a new budget agreement. close
