In his book Stirring It Up: How to Make Money and Save the World, Gary Hirshberg says that ecologically sound practices in business are economically sound in the long run. He argues that consuming environmentally friendly goods sends a message to companies and enables consumers to use our purchasing power to save the planet. Mr. Hirshberg participated in this panel discussion, “Saving the Environment,” along with business, religious, and community leaders who shared their approaches to helping the environment. Renee Loth of the Boston Globe moderated. close
