Michae Novak talked about his book No One Sees God: The Dark Night of Atheists and Believers (Doubleday; August 5, 2008). He contends that atheists and the religious have the same experience when contemplating the existence of God, namely there is a lack of confirmation. However, Mr. Novak believes that a spiritual life is more enriching and argues for a more logical and less acrimonious debate between believers and non-believers. Following his presentation Mr.Novak was joined in discussion by Christina Hoff Sommers and Jonathan Rauch. They responded to questions from members of the audience. Mr. DeMuth moderated. close
