General John Allen talked about the U.S.-led coalition to defeat ISIS* militants in Iraq and Syria. He outlined efforts to defund the group, identify and target foreign fighters, and diminish its image and change perceptions of the terrorist group in the Islamic world. He mentioned “constructive” talks with Turkey over the issue of a “no fly zone,” which the U.S. and Turkey were at odds over, and Iran’s complex role in the conflict.
