Clinical physicians and policy leaders talked about transparency and public access in measuring America’s hospitals and health care system. Representative Jim Cooper (D-TN) stated that policies and federal exemptions have to be modified in order to save federal programs like Social Security and Medicaid. In addition, speakers discussed ways to improve the safety and quality of health care in America. Other speakers included Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgeon Dr. Marty Makary, former policy director for the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and Public engagement Dr. Kavita Patel, and Lown Institute President Dr. Vikas Saini.
