Students from Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN), the University of Denver (CO), George Mason University (Fairfax, VA), and Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism’s Washington Program participated by broadband feed in a distance learning class. Former Speaker of the House Gingrich (1995-1999) talked about his experiences as a Republican congressional leader, changes he saw in Congress, his reasons for stepping down, and other topics. Mr. Scully moderated the class, and students from each location asked questions of the former House speaker.

Several C-SPAN video clips were shown. The program ended with a 1994 clip of the late comedian Chris Farley doing his impersonation of Speaker Gingrich on the House floor alongside the Speaker.
