Mr. Bond talked about his experiences during the civil rights movement, including his founding the Atlanta student sit-in and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Mr. Bond served as a senator in the Georgia state legislature and in 1968 was the first African American to be nominated for vice president of the United States. Following his remarks he took questions from the students.
