As part of a project sponsored by C-SPAN to encourage dialog between students and national figures, Representative Aaron Schock talked to students at Ballou Senior High School in Washington, D.C., about careers in politics. He spoke about his experiences and personal journey as a young man interested in politics, as well as the benefits of public service.
Rep. Aaron Schock is a Republican congressman from Illinois. He was elected in 2008, becoming the youngest member of the U.S. House of Representatives at age 27. Rep. Schock previously served on the school board in his hometown of Peoria, Illinois, first getting elected to the board at age 19. He later served in the Illinois House of Representatives. Rep. Schock graduated from Bradley University in 2002.
