Bob Deans talked about legislation pushed by Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives that he says weaken or reverse environmental laws that have been on the books for decades. Mr. Deans argued that the Republican Party, which in the past championed environmental protection, is now largely beholden to corporate polluters and tea party activists. He responded to questions from members of the audience at this book launch party held by the NRDC Action Fund at the National Press Club.
