Committee members heard testimony from administration officials and others concerning reauthorization and modification through S.1285 of the Superfund program, through which corporations convicted of violating environmental regulations pay for cleaning up the sites. The legislation would attempt to speed up the clean up of hazardous waste sites in several ways. This was the first in a series of two hearings. close
