Pullman Porter Exhibit at the National Railroad Museum

Robert Lettenberger talked about the National Railroad Museum’s exhibit, “Pullman Porters: From Service to Civil Rights,” and explained the role of Pull Porters throughout American history. The men who worked as Pullman Porters created the first African American service Union and were a large part of the Civil Rights movement during the 1960s.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from September 20-26 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed.
