Witnesses testified about airline passenger screening procedures, focusing on the Computer Assisted Passenger Prescreening System, also known as CAPPS II. Among the specific issues addressed were the effectiveness of the system, civil rights issues, privacy concerns, internal and international cooperation, processes for challenging and correcting inaccurate information, and the creation of an integrated terrorist watch list. Alternative systems, such as Trusted Traveler, were also discussed. close
