Al Sharpton was joined by a panel of journalists to discuss “Are Blacks Projected Fairly in the Media.” They discussed whether or not the media fairly portrays African Americans in its news coverage. Topics included Hurricane Katrina, the news coverage of evacuees at the Superdome, and the responsibility of media organizations in every city. After their presentations, the panelists responded to questions from members of the audience.

This event was part of the National Action Networks' annual convention in New York City. close
