Senator Patrick Leahy talked about Senate confirmation hearings on Elena Kagan, nominated by President Obama to fill the opening on the Supreme Court that would be left by the retirement of Justice John Paul Stevens. Hearings are to begin June 28, 2010. Topics included the scheduling of the hearing, how he prepares for a confirmation hearing, controversy over Elena Kagan’s brief effort to keep military recruiters out of the Harvard Law School when she was dean, and what cases Ms. Kagan might be questioned about. Following the interview, the journalists discussed his answers with the host.
