President Obama spoke to reporters in the Cabinet Room after his meeting with President Otto Perez Molina of Guatemala, President Juan Orlando Hernandez of Honduras, and President Salvador Sanchez Ceren of El Salvador. He had discussed the influx of unaccompanied immigrant children on the U.S. border with the Central American leaders. President Obama said that “all of us recognize that we have a shared responsibility to address this problem” of children crossing the border. He also noted that the number of children at the border had dropped in half since June 2014 and called on Congress to pass immigration reform.
