Robert Rector and Alex Nowrasteh talked about immigration policy, which both men debated during a June 18 closed-door session of the House Republican Study Committee, and they responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Mr. Rector opposes animmigration bill that would allow a “pathway to citizenship” for undocumented immigrants already in the country, citing the long-term cost to taxpayers. Mr. Nowrasteh supports legalization for some unauthorized immigrants, border and workplace enforcement to impede the entry and hiring of unauthorized immigrants, and increased numbers of guest workers and legal immigrants. close
