The subcommittee heard testimony from a number of experts in the areas of nuclear science and international security. They spoke on the possible threat of North Korean nuclear proliferation. The Defense Department says the U.S. would postpone the pullout of thousands of its troops from North Korea, so long as that country maintains a nuclear weapons program. North Korea, meantime, insists its program is for “peaceful purposes.” close
