The Senate Finance Committee heard testimonies on a proposed trade agreement between the United States and Mexico. Mexico is currently the United States' third largest trading partner, and the U.S. is Mexico’s largest trade partner, according to the Committee chairman Lloyd Bentsen, D-Texas. The Committee met twice, on February 6 and 20, to study the effects a Free Trade Agreement may have on the interests of the United States. close
