Two of the first African Americans to join the U.S. Marines, Joseph Carpenter and Eugene Groves, talked about their experience at Montford Point training camp in North Carolina, and their service during World War II. They also responded to questions from the audience.
The American Veterans Center hosted the discussion at its 15th Annual Conference.
