The Senate Armed Services Committee heard testimony from current and former members of the U.S. military on proposals to lift the ban on homosexuals in the U.S. military. During the morning session, a panel testified in favor of the ban on open homosexuality in the U.S. Armed Forces. General Schwarzkopf, commander of the allied forces during the Persian Gulf War, testified in the panel supporting the current ban on homosexuals in the U.S. military. Colonel Frederick Peck testified in support of the ban, stating that he felt his own son, who is homosexual, should not serve in the military. close
