Representative John Lewis (D-GA), who participated in monumental events such as the 1963 March on Washington and the freedom rides, talked about personal and historical perspective into the civil rights movement. He was interviewed on stage at the National Archives and responded to questions from members of the audience.

The event titled, “An Evening with Congressman John Lewis,” was a part of the National Archives commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. close
