Kurt Klein talked about his early life in Germany, the rise of Nazi persecution of the Jews, his escape to the United States and his family’s efforts to rescue his parents, who ultimately perished at the Auschwitz concentration camp. He also spoke about how, as an interrogator for the U.S. Army, he questioned Adolf Hitler’s driver, who described the German leader’s final days.

This interview was conducted on October 11, 1990, by Linda Kuzmack and is part of the oral history collection at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. close
