Mr. Brady died August 4, 2014, at the age of 73. He was partially paralyzed when he and President Reagan were shot March 21, 1981. Mr. Brady later campaigned for stricter gun control laws.
Highlights included live music from Brian Gaffney and Steve Morris, a slide show of photos of Mr. Brady running throughout the service, and tributes sent from former President Bill Clinton, former first lady Nancy Reagan, and former ABC News journalist and anchor Charles Gibson. Among the speakers were Vice President Joe Biden, former presidential press secretaries, and members of the press corps.
The service took place at the Newseum’s Annenberg Theater.
