Tevi Troy, presidential historian and senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, talked about his book, What Jefferson Read, Ike Watched, and Obama Tweeted: 200 Years of Popular Culture in the White House, in which he examines the popular culture that American presidents have partaken in over the past two-hundred years. Amongst the many presidential profiles, the author recounts Andrew Jackson’s interest in attending the theatre, the reading habits of Dwight Eisenhower, who loved Westerns, and Woodrow’s Wilson screening of the first movie in the White House. Tevi Troy spoke with author and syndicated columnist Jonah Goldberg, William Galston, Chair in the Brookings Institution’s Governance Studies program, and political analyst and columnist Mona Charen. close
