House Intelligence Committee heard testimony on the plans of the CIA to consolidate several of its activities and relocate several of its operations to another location outside of Washington. The $1.3 billion plan would move approximately 6,000 CIA employees to a location either in West Virginia or in Western Virginia. The committee had not been consulted on the selection of either site for the relocation of the CIA facilities. The committee sought to determine the decision making process going into the consolidation and relocation of the CIA facilities, and questioned whether the move would be in the best interests of the CIA or the American government. close
