Energy Department officials and executives from URS Corporation and Bechtel National testified at a hearing assessing the safety concerns and recent reports of whistleblower retaliation at the Hanford Nuclear Site in Washington state. They all said they recognize the importance of a strong safety culture and commitment to allowing employees to openly raise safety concerns without fear of retaliation. URS executive James Taylor cited the reason for Donna Busche’s firing as conduct and behavior. close
