Representative Keith Ellison (D-IL) delivered the keynote speech at an event which included panels on race, economic inequality, and the goals of the 1963 March on Washington.

The August 28, 1963, March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom called for economic as well as civil rights for African Americans. “The Unfinished March” was a day-long forum held at the AFL-CIO headquarters by the Economic Policy Institute to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the march and the release of the first in a series of reports outlining the steps needed for the nation to fully achieve each of the goals of the march. close
