Siddharth Kara, a fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, talked about modern day slavery and human trafficking. Topics included slavery’s history and evolution, Mr. Kara’s experiences traveling around the world, and the forces contributing to contemporary global slave practices. He also commented on what the future holds and what individuals and groups can do to combat slavery. Mr. Kara is the author of two books on the subject, Sex Trafficking: Inside the Business of Modern Slavery and Bonded Labor: Tackling the System of Slavery in South Asia. This event was part of an annual international conference hosted by Yale University.
