Mr. Galbraith discussed his life with his biographer Richard Parker, author of the upcoming John Kenneth Galbraith: The Making of American Economics, published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux. Mr. Galbraith talked about his personal relationship with Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt, Jacqueline and John Kennedy, and Lady Bird and Lyndon Johnson. He also talked about his involvement with the anti-war movement in the 1960s and the influence of John Maynard Keynes on his work in economics. The speakers were introduced by former senator, Mr. Pryor (D-AR), now director of Harvard University’s Institute of Politics. Mr. Galbriath answered questions from the audience following his discussion with Mr. Parker. close
