Senate Budget committee members heard from Secretary of Education Richard Riley and Former Secretary of Education for the Reagan Administration ,William Bennett, on the role of the federal government in education. Secretary Riley talked about President Clinton’s education initiatives and Mr. Bennett gave his views on those initiatives as well as possible educational programs the Congress might pass.
