The Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Subcommittee heard testimony on work restriction protection provisions of proposed ergonomic regulations from OSHA, and the effects of these provisions on state workers compensation systems. Members of the committee showed concern that OSHA was trying to extend its jurisdiction into workers compensation disputes. Labor Department officials countered that many injuries could be prevented if these standards were to be implemented. close
