The Senate Environmental and Public Works Committee held a confirmation hearing for Environmental Protection Agency and civil and water works positions. Witnesses included Stephen Johnson to be administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency; Luis Luna to be assistant administrator of the EPA for administration and resource management; John Paul Woodley, Jr. to be assistant secretary of the Army for civil works; Maj. Gen. Don Riley to be a member and president of the Mississippi River Commission; Brig. Gen. William T. Grisoli to be a member of the Mississippi River Commission; and D. Michael Rappoport to be a member of the Board of Trustees of the Morris K. Udall Foundation. They talked about environmental policy, natural resource management, and the administration of government public works programs. close
