Mr. Ledeen, the author of Betrayed: How America Led a Global Democratic Revolution, Won the Cold War, and Walked Away, spoke about democratic revolutions in modern history. He examined the characteristics of successful and failed revolutions and how the traditional image of revolutions has focused on emotional, leftist revolutions, such as the French and Bolshevik revolutions. He also outlined how the U.S. has failed to assist and set an example for the emerging democracies of the world. After his prepared remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
