U.S. Strategic Commander Admiral Cecil Haney briefed reporters and answered their questions on a variety of military topics. He talked about the influence of 21st century deterrence and threats to U.S. security, highlighting the potential for nuclear, space, and cyber attacks. Admiral Haney answered questions on North Korea’s new nuclear missiles and China’s anti-satellite missile test in 2014. He also said that the fiscal year 2016 defense budget was adequate but that it would not sustain any cuts. close
