Among the topics addressed were disaster relief and lessons learned from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) efforts following Hurricane Katrina. Of particular concern were temporary housing issues; communication and coordination between local, state, and federal government; and the proper role of FEMA in federal government responses to future disasters. close
