Dr. Theodore Brown and political cartoonist Clay Bennett spoke at a forum on the use of editorial cartoons and the history of efforts to pass universal health care coverage. Dr. Brown showed how views for and against health care coverage were portrayed during the red scare in the early 20th Century, the creation of Medicare in the 1960s, and during the debate over the 2010 health care law. Mr. Bennett presented a general overview on the role of the editorial cartoonist in public debate. close
