The committee heard from members of Congress on campaign finance reform legislation, including S.3, the Congressional Campaign Spending Limit and Election Reform Act of 1993, sponsored by Senators Mitchell, Boren and Ford. Similar campaign finance reform legislation was passed by Congress during the Bush administration, but was vetoed by President Bush. Issues brought up in the hearing included campaign spending limits. close
