Stanley Crouch talked about black popular culture. He considers the debilitating social effects of low intellectual aspirations and materialism to be a crisis. Mr. Crouch traced the rise of hoodlums and pimps as role models and their use of the “n-word.” He talked about the influence of the entertainment industry and rap music. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions.
