Kevin Kooistra talked about the life of Frederick Billings, a gold rush lawyer, railroad magnate, and conservationist. Frederick Billings is the namesake of Billings, Montana, and was president of the Northern Pacific Railway from 1879 to 1881. Although he never owned a home in Billings, he played an important role in the city’s development and current look.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Billings, Montana from September 9-13 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter Communications local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
