Senator Coleman, chairman of the Western Hemisphere, Peace Corps and Narcotics Affairs Subcommittee, held a confirmation hearing for David H. Wilkins to be the ambassador to Canada. Senators Graham and DeMint, along with Senators Reed and Allard, introduced Mr. Wilkins, who was Speaker of the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Senator Coleman also held hearings for Ambassador to Panama nominee William A. Eaton, Ambassador to Guatemala nominee James M. Derham, Ambassador to Belize nominee Robert Johann Dieter, Ambassador to Nicaragua nominee Paul A. Trivelli, and Ambassador to Ecuador nominee Linda Jewell. close
