Former State Department and intelligence officials testified on proposals for U.S. policy toward North Korea in light of the country’s third nuclear test missile. Some of those proposals were undermining North Korea’s illicit activities and increased sanctions. Panelists also discussed the effectiveness of prior U.S. and United Nations sanctions, and the impact of former NBA star Dennis Rodman’s trip to North Korea on U.S. relations and the media’s coverage of it.
